Catch up 1

20 Octobre 2013

Each day my teacher writes the date on the board this way.  Chaque jour mon professeur écrir la date sur le bord.

It's been a month since I wrote.  I meant to write at least once a month, but somehow we are busy. And I have been tired.  But we are on a break from school now and I have a little time to write.  We are on the same schedule as the public schools:  7 weeks on 2 weeks off.  We end up going about the same amount of days, it is just spaced differently.  And everything stops for break.  Schools, sports, and even adults get one of the 2 weeks off.  Good for family.  Good for our health.

So this might be long, but here is a re-cap:

14 September
We went to Lyon on a Saturday:

On the way we passed this mountain. HUGE mountains here- rugged and steep.

By a fountain in Lyon with our friends the Leathers.

Of all the things we looked at at the art museum, Ben liked the coins best.
They had to be pulled away from the magnifying glasses to look at the details.

For my Besancon relatives- really old coins from Besancon, France

They liked this one, but the loose tooth was also interesting....

Family photo

Some of the Roman ruins.  Found out later we weren't supposed to walk on them.

View from the the other roman ruins.  These were really cool.

Long way down

We climbed the Belle Étoile.  I'll have to do more picts of this sometime.  Stunningly beautiful.
"At the top of the Belle Etoile (1843 m - table), magnificent 360 ° panorama"

Mt.Blanc behind us- Europe's tallest mountain.

Steep drop-off on both sides in places.  It was  damp that day.
Further down most of us fell on our derrière at some point, but not at the top!
